WHAT IS IT?
Microneedling is a non-ablative treatment that utilizes a handheld device with sterile needles to create tiny channels in your skin and stimulate collagen production. This treatment for the face takes about 45 minutes and is virtually painless with little or no downtime.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with tiny, sterile needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These controlled, tiny wounds trigger the body's natural wound-healing process, which promotes collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin.
WHEN SHOULD I GET IT?
Microneedling may cause redness and minor swelling for 1–3 days, so allow at least 7–10 days before any major events. This ensures your skin has ample time to recover. Fall and winter are usually ideal because there’s less sun exposure, reducing the risk of post-procedure pigmentation. Your skin will be sensitive to UV light after treatment, so this time of year might make it easier to stay out of direct sunlight.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Microneedling typically takes 30 to 60 minutes to perform, depending on the area being treated and the depth of treatment. Smaller areas, like parts of the face, may take closer to 30 minutes, while larger areas or more intensive treatments might take closer to an hour.
The process may also require extra time for pre-treatment preparation, such as numbing cream application, which usually needs about 20–30 minutes to take effect.
